Qur’an Memorization

Introduction

The Tahfiz/Hifz Al-Qur’an program offers young students the opportunity to memorize the entire Qur’an. It is designed primarily for youth between the ages of 8 to 15, who are interested and committed to memorizing the noble Qur’an. The program is divided into two types, full-time and part-time (the latter enabling students to memorize the Qur’an on a part-time basis, in the evening, without compromising on their secular education).

Alongside the memorization of the blessed Qur’an, students will also learn about other essential subjects such as the foundational beliefs of Islam (‘Aqa‘id), Prophetic Tradition (Hadith), Prophetic Biography (Sirah), Islamic Ethics and Manners (Akhlaq and Adab), elementary Islamic Jurisprudence (Fiqh), the Science of Pronunciation (Tajwid), Islamic History (Ta’rikh), etc.

In addition, quality general school education will/can be provided (via an online medium) to prevent students from potentially falling behind their peers in school. Experience has shown, that due to the blessings of this virtuous effort, students in this program surpass others in their ability to learn, memorize, and grasp new concepts! By the grace of Allah (ﷻ), about 50+ students (as young as 9 years old) have completed the memorization of the blessed Qur’an.

Duration & Benefits

The Tahfiz program is ongoing and perpetual, with no set duration. The completion time will differ from individual-to-individual, based upon their enthusiasm, mental capabilities, and parental support. However, based on past observation and/or experience, one can assume the average duration to complete the memorization is between 2-4 years. Upon successful completion of this program, the student will have memorized the entire Qur’an from cover to cover with correct pronunciation (Tajwid), and be able to lead any Muslim congregation in the five daily Salah, Jumu’ah, Janazah, and/or Tarawih.
